The anonymous Samaritan represents all of us as we go about our lives hoping to serve those in need. The red cloth symbolizes wealthier classes which beautifully shows how we should lift others above their tribulation as much as we possibly can. The Samaritan was not a wealthy man, but I would think that he would have given all he had and more to help.
The red cloth itself also offers protection from the harsh weather and to cover his wounds. In the color red I also hope to symbolize Christ’s blood and eternal sacrifice. Through Him we find protection and comfort as we lift ourselves from the dust start a new and happier life through Him.
